Top Ten from EMBARK Week One

  1. Standing in the Chiang Mai airport waiting for the girls to arrive (totally excited and nervous) and seeing them emerge from customs and immigration with huge smiles, all their luggage, and ready to head straight to the mall to buy their new cell phones!
  2. Watching the group huddle around their map of Chiang Mai twenty-four hours after arrival and seeing them work out exactly where they are and where they need to go.
  3. Cheering as the girls arrived home after using public transportation for the first time.
  4. Hearing the group pray for one another and for people they long to know Jesus.
  5. Wandering the Doi Saket Tuesday night market. I had the opportunity to use my limited Thai to build bridges to my community and we met some new neighbors.
  6. Listening to the Chiang Mai YFC director share about the faith of the Thai people and how to share the story of Jesus.
  7. Marveling as Neil shared about the pioneers of YFC work in many nations in Asia Pacific and the risks and challenges they face daily.
  8. Considering topics like risk, suffering, failure, transition, and culture stress and pushing each other to pre-decide how we are going to respond when nothing goes as planned.
  9. Laughing together LOTS!!!
  10. Loving every minute!
